How the figures are kept
- Unique users cannot be added up across days, so they are fetched for whole windows rather than summed. Summing daily rows overstated them by a third in our own tests.
- Rates are stored as their parts, or weighted by sessions, so a figure is exact over any date range.
- The last few days are re-read for three mornings while GA4 finishes processing them.
- Revenue carries the currency GA4 reports for the property.
What it does not do
- Long-tail cuts keep the top 250 members per month.
- Explorations, funnels and user-level paths are not read.
- Google's public demo property cannot be read through the Data API.
Connecting
- Sign in with Google and grant read-only access to Analytics.
- Pick the GA4 property to read. One connection can serve several properties, bound one per workspace.
Read-only wherever the provider allows it. Tokens are encrypted at rest and a connection can be revoked at any time.
How data is handledOnce connected
- Pulled daily at the hour your workspace chooses, with fourteen months of history where the provider allows.
- Every figure keeps the request and response that produced it.
- Available to every answer, dashboard and deck in the workspace.
